2021 Murdoch Hill Sauvignon Blanc

After stints at Vietti, Best's and Shaw+Smith, Michael Downer returned to the family estate in 2012. Alongside taking over winemaker duties, he revitalised their 20 hectares by introducing organic principles and planting new varieties. High quality fruit and outstanding winemaking, Murdoch Hill is going from strength to strength. Classic Hills sauvignon blanc. 100% estate fruit from a cool, dry vintage already lauded as one of the best we've ever seen. Fermentation in a mixture of tank and old barrels, a little time on lees to build texture. Intensely fresh and vibrant, it jumps out of the glass with fresh passionfruit and zesty citrus. Spot on.
