2021 Les Fruits Voix des Raisins14256409
WINEMAKER: Tim Stock
VARIETAL: Shiraz, Cinsault
REGION: McLaren Vale/Barossa Valley, SA
A blend of Syrah from the top the McLaren Vale ranges with a good splash of Barossa Cinsault. Destemmed together to whole berry and macerated cold overnight before pressing and natural barrel fermentation where it rests until racking in October.
Beautiful soft red with gold inflections. If it were Champagne they would call it ‘eye of the partridge’. Maybe try the sodastream? The nose has been lightly shaped by the barrel and lees aging.
Delicate pink grapefruit, watermelon, strawberry and raspberry fruits offset by some savoury spice. The juicy palate is a notch up in intensity. Instantaneous fresh burst of acidity and flavour. Bang! More of a raspberry and pink grapefruit accent here with the elevated acidity dialing up the citrus. Super tangy finish with some pithy tannins adding extra dryness. Goes and goes... Serious juice! 11.7%
Renowned importer and industry favourite Tim Stock also makes some seriously good wine. Working out of the Commune of Buttons shed in the Basket Range, Tim strives to produce savoury, terroir-driven wines that speak of place.
