After the smoke-ravaged 2020 vintage the 2021 season came as a blessing with regular falls of rain and cool conditions just perfect for Riesling. The long ripening window has given us fine, detailed fruit characters and enabled plenty of fresh natural acid retention in the wines. Drink now for its razor fine floral, citrus-edged fruit or cellar for up to 15 years and watch it develop lime and toast characters with age.
Established by John Kirk in 1971, Clonakilla is a truly iconic estate and benchmark producer for the Canberra District region. Their Shiraz Viognier is arguably one of the most important wines in the country. It's always a good day when these wines arrive in the shop.
