2019 Les Vins du Clair Obscur Bourgogne Aligoté

Pierre Clair took over his grandfather's vineyard in 2006, making wine in parallel to his day job as chef de culture at the prestigious biodynamic Domaine Marquis d'Angerville. His philosophy is simple - whole bunches, old barriques and zero adds (only a touch of sulphur at bottling if the 'test à l’air' is unsuccessful). Biodynamically grown aligoté from 60 year old vines on sandy loam soil. Manually harvested, direct pressed and sent to barrel for nine months on fine lees. Impressive.
