
2019 Cantina Giardino Sophia





Cantina Giardino seek out old vineyards in Irpinia, high in the hills of Campania, preserving and championing local varietals. High altitudes, volcanic soils, organic farming and honest winemaking, Antonio and Daniela's wines are expressive of terroir and speak of place.
100% greco grown at elevation in Santa Paolina. Destemmed and macerated in 13 different amphorae, locally made out of clay from their vineyards in Montemarano, before being pressed to acacia and chestnut to rest for six months. Normally on skins for five months before being sent to Cantillon, unable to do so this year, the wine was macerated for 319 days. Spicy and complex with serious grip, an impressive vintage.
